Hello! Welcome back to the butterfly blog. Sorry it's a bit late this week!
Last week we carried on our transport topic, but this time we looked at air transport! The children have had lots of fun in the class room, building their own aeroplanes and sharing together.
We are learning to share our ideas with each other. Here we are talking about our experiences of aeroplanes. It looks like some of the Red Admirals had secrets to share!
We have stared our maths lessons, and have been singing lots of transport songs. The Holly Blues were singing "five little men in a flying saucer". We had great fun running around the world on the Red Admiral carpet!
Each class made a hot air balloon together. We really liked blowing up the balloons and letting them go to see which direction they went whizzing off in! We learnt that it was the air whoosing out that made it move.
Watching the balloon really made us giggle.
Miss Whitelock was really surprised when the balloon jumped up and hit her in the face!
Then it was time to get messy! We all worked together making our balloons, we had to make sure not to cover too much so that everyone got a chance to have a go.
A Holly Blue made a super patten on a hot air balloon out of plasticine. He was really proud of his work, and so were we!
We started our phonics lessons this week. The children have been really enjoying it! Mrs Harris took her class outside to listen to mystery instruments.
Mrs Worrall's car was much bigger than Miss Whitelock's car. Only three children could squeeze in Miss Whitelock's boot!
We really liked beeping the horn, I hope we didn't bother the children in the big school! Lots of children knew how to put their seat belts on, and reminded each other to do so when they got in the car.
To finish the week we had a special treat. The Holly Blue's filled up their marble jar so we all got to have a picnic. Lots of people liked the healthy foods that we had to choose from... and everyone liked the chocolate!
Next week is Harvest festival, so we will be learning about lots of different foods. If you have any pasta, spaghetti or vegetables that you think you could donate to the butterflies this week it would be greatly appreciated! Feel free to get cooking this weekend, talking about all the different ingredients that go into a healthy dinner.
Harvest is on Friday, so it's time to raid the cupboards for unwanted tins.

we are all loving the blog. we love seeing the photos of the children in action and samuel just loves seeing himself and class mates and telling us all about what they were doing. its becoming a weekend ritual in our house. samuel loved the transport theme and talked about it lots sung the songs to us we even had to buy one from i tunes as we did not have it on a cd. one eveing whilst i was putting vegetables in th eoven samuel built a contol tower for the aeroplanes in the lounge with my 3 stacking tables one on top of each other. he was very proud of it - it did look spectacular, it was taller than him.

DeleteLamees loves seeing herself in the pictures and gets very excited when she does. She points at the pictures of all her class mates and tells us the names of all of her friends and explains to us the activities shown in the images. We'll be looking forward to seeing the next blog. Keep it up :)
